The 4-sentence answer

King Protective Loom is flexible split-loom tubing that protects the King Permanent low-voltage wire from UV, abrasion, and rodent damage. Slide loom over the wire before final routing. Available in multiple lengths to match the per-property run length. Compatible with All King Permanent Lighting 24V & 36V Systems. Use only with the King Permanent Lighting ecosystem — proprietary connectors and controller communication mean cross-brand mixing is not supported.

Why the King Protective Loom earns its place on the install

Give your extension wiring the protection it deserves. King Permanent Lighting Protective Loom provides an essential layer of defense for extension cables — shielding them from outdoor exposure, environmental wear, and long-term damage.

  • Designed to protect a single extension line
  • Ideal for individual cable runs between lights or from controller to first light
  • Designed for running multiple extension lines bundled together
  • The right choice when consolidating several cables along the same path

  • Shields extension wiring from UV exposure, moisture, and environmental wear
  • Delivers a cleaner, more professional finished appearance on every install
  • Helps maintain long-term system durability and performance
  • UL 94-V0 Fire Rated for added safety and compliance

Installing loom by hand is slow. The King Permanent Lighting Loom Tool (sold separately) is specifically designed to thread loom over extension cables significantly faster, saving real time on every job.

Highly recommended for any installer working with loom regularly — it pays for itself quickly.

Where this part fits in the system

UV protection for outdoor wire runs

Direct sun exposure ages PVC wire jacket. The protective loom blocks UV and extends wire life across multiple seasons of permanent install.

Rodent and animal damage protection

Squirrels and mice chew through unprotected wire jackets, especially during winter. The loom is harder to bite through and discourages chewing.

Abrasion protection on rough surfaces

Wire that runs across brick, stone, or rough siding ages from abrasion. Loom adds a sacrificial layer between wire and surface.

How to install King Protective Loom

  1. Plan the system layout. King Permanent Lighting installs follow a layout-first pattern. Sketch the eave line, PSU location, controller location, and accessory placement before any wire pulls.
  2. Mount in the rated enclosure. PSU and controller units mount inside the King Permanent outdoor enclosure box for code-compliant install. GFCI outlet required for the supply.
  3. Route low-voltage wire through protective loom. Use the King Permanent protective loom along the run. Bury or tuck behind soffit where the wire isn't architecturally visible.
  4. Connect with King proprietary connectors. Don't splice with generic wire nuts. Use the King 3-wire connectors at every junction.
  5. Commission via the King controller app. Pair the controller via Bluetooth + Wi-Fi. Run a full color cycle to confirm every LED is firing before final mount.

Build quality + materials

  • Outdoor-rated construction — designed for year-round outdoor exposure when mounted in the rated King Permanent enclosure box.
  • Proprietary connector system — gas-tight connections that survive freeze-thaw and humidity exposure for the life of the install.
  • Multi-year permanent install rated — unlike seasonal Christmas lighting, the King Permanent system is designed to stay on the eave year-round.

Warranty

1-year manufacturer warranty on King Permanent Lighting components from Christmas Lights HQ. Not covered: install outside the rated King Permanent enclosure box, cross-brand mixing with non-King components, damage from over-voltage or over-current beyond the rated spec, animal damage.
