- The kit fits standard C9 E17 sockets. Add or swap bulbs from the full C9 lineup — every C9 color fits the same socket spacing.
- Longer run or extra wire
- Add a 1,000 ft C9 SPT-1 socket wire spool or SPT-1 extension wire if the property exceeds the kit's wire footage.
- Different clip type for the install surface
- The kit ships with shingle tab clips (shingle-edge mount). Add Wedge Clips for gutter mount, Tile Clips for tile roof, Tuff Mag for metal substrate, or Parapet Clips for stone/parapet caps.
- Automation and timing
- Add outdoor LED-rated timers for dusk-to-dawn or scheduled run times. GFCI outlet required.
- Extension to outlet
- Use outdoor extension cables to bridge from the install start to the GFCI outlet.

How to install this kit
Pro-installer steps for the C9 Starter Pack 500ft across a 2-3 home contractor route.
- Cut the 500 ft spool into per-home sections. ~170 ft for 3 homes OR ~250 ft for 2 homes. Pre-stage at the shop.
- Pre-bulb + pre-clip each section. ~170 bulbs + 170 shingle tab clips per section. Wind onto takeup reels for transport.
- On-site: unroll + mount. At each property, unroll the pre-bulbed pre-clipped section. Slide clips under shingles section by section.
- Add plug pair per stringer. 1 male + 1 female per run (10 total = 5 male + 5 female for 5-stringer total).
- Route + test at each property. GFCI outlet at each home. Walk the run plugged in before crew moves to next property.

- cETLus certification — C9 LED bulbs in this kit are cETLus listed (Intertek file 5019711) per UL 588 safety standard for seasonal lighting. Equivalent to UL Listed for permit-track residential and commercial installs.
- IP65 wet location rating — C9 LED bulbs survive direct rain, snow, and sleet exposure. Not submersible.

Warranty

Not covered: dropped bulbs, cut socket wire from sharp tools, mis-wired connections (240V over-voltage), animal damage, year-round outdoor exposure beyond the rated seasonal cycle.

What if I run out of one item mid-install?
Each item in the kit is sold individually too. The fastest re-stock path: order the component you ran short on from the individual C9 catalog with overnight shipping. Common shortfall is bulbs on patriotic kits (extra Reds for HOA-required color balance) — re-order the matching individual SKU.
Can I return the kit if I don't use it?
Yes — unopened kits return within 30 days of delivery for a full refund minus return shipping. Opened kits with unused components return at restocking value. Full return policy.
What's the warranty difference between kit and individual components?
No difference — each component in the kit carries its individual manufacturer warranty (5-year on Minleon V2 bulbs, 1-year on Tuff Bulbs / wire / clips / plugs). Christmas Lights HQ honors all warranties whether the component was bought standalone or as part of a kit.
Can I upgrade to Minleon V2 bulbs and keep the rest of the kit?
Yes — choose the Minleon V2 variant when ordering. Same wire + clips + plugs included; only the bulb spec changes.
Does the kit include a timer?
