Up to 1,200 bulbs, or 960 watts, on a single plug. That is 1,200 feet at 12 inch spacing or 1,500 feet at 15 inch spacing.

What happens if one C9 bulb burns out?

The rest of the run stays lit. C9 stringers are parallel wired, so a single failed bulb does not take down the strand. Twist out the dead bulb and twist in a spare.

Do King Pro Bulbs C9 hold up in hard freezes?

Yes. LEDs run cool and handle cold better than heat. The IP67 seal keeps meltwater out and polycarbonate does not get brittle and shatter the way glass does at low temperatures.

Is the Minleon V2 C9 actually dimmable, or just labeled as dimmable?

Yes — actually dimmable. The TRIAC dimming circuit is patented (US10738984B2). It needs a TRIAC-rated dimmer module — generic ELV or 0-10V dimmers will flicker or refuse to fire. Lutron Caseta and Insteon LED dimmers are confirmed compatible.

What dimmer brand should I use with Minleon V2?

Lutron Caseta in residential, Lutron Maestro CL for hardwired, Insteon LED dimmer modules for retrofit. Avoid no-name Amazon TRIAC dimmers — many don't actually fire TRIAC cleanly and you'll see the bulbs strobe.

How many Minleon V2 bulbs can run on one 120V circuit?

At 0.78W per bulb, a standard 15A residential circuit (1800W usable) handles roughly 2,300 bulbs theoretical. Practically never exceed 80% of circuit capacity per code, so cap at ~1,800 bulbs per circuit. Most contractors stop well below that, splitting runs at 500-800 bulbs per line for serviceability.

Does the Minleon V2 work in cold weather (below 0°F)?

Yes — rated for outdoor cold-climate operation. LEDs actually run BETTER in cold than warm because junction temperature stays lower. We've installed Minleon V2 runs in Minnesota and Montana winters down to -20°F without incident.

Can I mix Minleon V2 and Tuff C9 on the same run?

Yes — both fit E17 sockets and both run on 120V. They'll look slightly different because Minleon V2 emits a touch more lumen output per bulb. If mixing for budget reasons, run Minleon on the visible line and Tuff on the side / back / valley — the difference disappears at viewing distance.

How long does the warranty actually last in practice?

What's the real-world lifespan vs the rated 15,000 hours?

The 15,000-hour rating is L70 — the point where output drops to 70% of original. Most Minleon V2 bulbs deliver useful light well past L70. Contractors on multi-year contracts report 8-10 seasons of acceptable performance, close to the rated hours given typical 60-day per-year usage.

Is the bag-label wattage accurate, or does it draw more under load?

0.78W is measured under steady-state at 120V nominal. Under high line voltage (124V+ at the outlet) you'll see ~0.85W. Under low voltage (115V) you'll see ~0.72W. Within ±10% of label spec across the normal residential voltage range.

Any standard C9 stringer with E17 intermediate sockets. C9 SPT-1 socket wire (0.030″ jacket — indoor and sheltered runs) or C9 SPT-2 socket wire (0.045″ jacket — cold-climate outdoor). Both are 18 AWG copper; jacket thickness is the only mechanical difference. Look for sockets with weep holes so water drains instead of pooling.

Spacing

12 inch spacing for tight, dense rooflines and detail work. 15 inch spacing to cover more linear footage per bulb and cut material cost on large commercial jobs.

Clips

C9 Wedge Tuff Clip (the volume leader — most residential shingle and gutter work), C9 Parapet Clip for tile and stone parapet caps, Tuff Magnetic Clip for steel substrate, All-in-One Clip for universal gutter and shingle.

Plugs

SPT-1 male plug for SPT-1 socket wire; SPT-2 male plug for SPT-2 socket wire. Don't cross-match — the slide-on plug must match the wire jacket spec.

Circuit math for the crew

A maxed 960-watt run pulls 8 amps. On a 15-amp circuit, the 80% continuous-load rule gives you 12 amps (1,440 watts) usable — so one full run fits with room for a controller or a partial second run. Always check what else is already sharing that circuit before you energize.

How to install

Choose your socket wire specSPT-1 (0.030″ jacket) for indoor or sheltered runs. SPT-2 (0.045″ jacket) for outdoor cold-climate. Both 18 AWG copper. Measure your roofline, divide by spacing, and order 5–10% extra for peaks and dormers.
Twist the bulb into the socketE17 base into the C9 socket, hand-tight only. Over-tightening cracks the base over time. A partially seated bulb is the number one cause of a dark spot in an otherwise good run.
Test the line before mountingPlug in and walk the whole line. Confirm every bulb lights and swap any dead ones BEFORE you mount clips. A mid-roof bulb swap costs four times the time of a pre-mount swap.
