Fits C7 and C9 bulbs. One product line, two sizes — pick the version that matches your stringer setup. The Tuff Tab works with all standard C7 (E12) and C9 (E17) socket wire on SPT-1 and SPT-2 line.

Slide-over Flex technology. Like the rest of the TuffClips lineup, the Tuff Tab slides over a bulb that's already screwed into the socket. Pre-bulb your strands in the shop, deploy on-site, and skip the cold-fingered clip-first workflow that slows everyone else down.

Two living hinges for a secure hold. The dual-hinge design grips between the shingle layers and accommodates the thickness variation between asphalt shingles, architectural shingles, and cedar shakes. One clip handles the full range of shingle profiles you'll encounter on a residential route.

360° rotating socket. Spin each bulb to any angle after the tab is installed. When the Tuff Tab is slid between shingle layers, the bulbs face outward toward the street instead of pointing straight up — the difference between a roofline that reads clean from the curb and one that lights up the underside of the eaves.

UV-stabilized heavy-duty plastic. Same high-durability material as the rest of the TuffClips lineup. Holds up through wind, rain, ice, snow, and multiple install-and-takedown cycles without cracking or going brittle.

How to install

1. Pre-bulb the stringer at the ground. Mount bulbs into the stringer BEFORE going up the ladder. Walk the line plugged in to test for dead bulbs.
2. Pre-clip the stringer at the ground. Slide clips onto every socket while the line is laid out. Faster than clipping on the roof.
3. Slide the tab under the shingle. Push the tab under the first row of shingles at the eave line. Tab body holds the bulb facing outward.
4. Verify and stake the supply cord. Confirm the line lights. Route the supply cord to the outlet.

Build quality + materials

• UV-stabilized polymer — resists yellowing, cold-cracking, and freeze-thaw degradation across multiple seasons.
• Dual-compatible bulb cradle — accepts both E17 (C9) and E12 (C7) base profiles.
