Same 1,000 ft of wire either way. The spacing changes how many bulbs sit on that wire — which changes the look, the bulb count, and your material cost per foot.

Most residential contractors run 12". It's the denser, more premium look and it's what customers picture when they think of a professionally lit roofline. At this route size you're mostly bidding houses, not commercial perimeters — so unless you're specifically chasing long, simple rooflines, 12" is the safer default. Grow Your Install — Compatible Add-Ons

More bulbs or different color. The kit fits standard C9 E17 sockets. Add or swap bulbs from the full C9 lineup — every C9 color fits the same socket spacing.

Longer run or extra wire. Add a 1,000 ft C9 SPT-1 socket wire spool or SPT-1 extension wire if the property exceeds the kit's wire footage.

Different clip type for the install surface. The kit ships with Tuff Wedge Clips for gutter mount. Add Tile Clips for tile roof, Tuff Mag for metal substrate, or Parapet Clips for stone/parapet caps.

Automation and timing. Comes with 5 outdoor LED-rated timers for dusk-to-dawn or scheduled run times. GFCI outlet required.

How to Install This Kit

Pro-installer steps for the C9 Starter Pack 1,000ft across a 5-7 home route.

1. Pre-stage at the shop. Cut 1,000 ft into 5-7 per-home sections (~150-200 ft each). Pre-bulb and pre-clip each section. Wind onto takeup reels and label by address.
2. Load the truck. 1-2 person crew, one truck. All pre-staged sections fit in the bed with your ladders. Plan the route by ZIP code to minimize windshield time.
3. On-site: unroll + mount each section. ~30-45 minutes per home for a 2-installer crew, longer solo. Slide the Tuff Wedge clips section by section along the eave.
4. Add plug pair per stringer. Most homes use 1 stringer per side of the roofline = 2 plug pairs per home.
5. Route to GFCI outlet at each home + test. Walk the run plugged in. Swap DOA bulbs before you leave the property — a return trip eats the profit on the job.

Certifications and Materials

• UL certified bulbs — C9 LED bulbs in this kit are certified for seasonal and holiday decorative lighting, approved for indoor and outdoor use.
• Wet location rated — C9 LED bulbs survive direct rain, snow, and sleet exposure. Not submersible. King Pro Bulbs are IP67 sealed; Minleon V2 are IP65.
• UL Listed insulation (wire) — SPT-1 socket wire and jumper wire are UL Listed for 120V residential extension cord use.
• Seasonal residential and commercial use — Component lifespans are sized for 5+ seasons of installation, takedown, storage, and redeployment when handled per the install guide.

Warranty

King Pro Bulbs C9 carry a 5-year warranty. Remaining components carry their individual manufacturer warranties — Christmas Lights HQ honors all of them. Not covered: dropped bulbs, cut socket wire from sharp tools, mis-wired connections (240V over-voltage), animal damage, year-round outdoor exposure beyond the rated seasonal cycle.
