A Pro Christmas light kit is the complete residential install in one SKU: C9 LED bulbs, SPT-1 socket wire, C9 Wedge Tuff Clips, and Gilbert plugs — all pre-matched for the linear footage of roofline you'll cover. Sizes range from 100ft (partial installs) to 2,000ft (10+ homes per season). The 1,000ft Warm White kit is the year-round bestseller, covering 5-6 average homes and the most popular pick with first-year and second-year contractors. Same-day shipping ships from Burlington, Kentucky before 2 PM ET.
Size the kit by homes you'll install this season. When in doubt, size up — running out of bulbs in mid-November costs more than ordering bigger upfront.
| Kit size | Homes covered | Bulbs included | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 ft | Partial / accent | 100 C9 | Small accent installs or first-time installer |
| 250 ft | 1 home | 250 C9 | Single one-story residential install |
| 500 ft | 2–3 homes | 500 C9 | First-year contractor learning volume |
| 1,000 ft RECOMMENDED | 5–6 homes | 1,000 C9 | Serious year-one or year-two contractor |
| 2,000 ft | 10+ homes | 2,000 C9 | Full contractor season with a crew |
A Pro kit costs less than sourcing bulbs, wire, clips, and plugs separately. Pre-matched components solve four real problems.
Bulbs, sockets, wire gauge, clips, and plugs are all sized to work together. No mid-install "this wire doesn't fit" surprises.
Pro-grade C9 LEDs last 5+ seasons; retail big-box C9 lasts 1-2. The wholesale price difference pays back in year two.
Complete kit is 15-25% below buying bulbs, wire, clips, and plugs as separate orders. Bigger kit sizes = better per-unit pricing.
Order a kit, get a complete install in one box. No hunting for missing parts, no last-minute hardware store runs.
The Patriot House Kit — 100 Bulb Red White Blue C9 LEDs — the residential America 250 install kit. Pre-built C9 stringer with patriotic Red White Blue palette, ready to hang. The volume install for the 2026 patriotic season. Shop the Patriot House Kit →
Four pre-matched components per kit: C9 LED bulbs, SPT-1 socket wire, C9 Wedge Tuff Clips, Gilbert plugs. Quantities scale with kit size.
Industry standard for residential roofline. Contractor-grade pro-LED. 1 bulb per 12" of socket wire. Plug-and-play with the included socket wire.
Outdoor-rated. Visually matches gutters and shingle shadow. Pre-spaced sockets every 12". One foot of wire = one bulb installed.
One clip per bulb — the contractor standard we use on ~90% of installs. The Wedge dual-mounts on shingle eaves AND aluminum gutters, so one clip covers most of the roofline. Polycarbonate, holds to -20°F, no nails, no glue, no roof damage.
10 of each per 500ft of wire. Standard SPT-1 connectors. Lets you make custom-length runs or chain stringers together.
The eight Pro Kit SKUs cluster into four families. Pick the family that matches your install profile; pick the size by linear footage you'll cover this season.
Three sizes: Patriot House Kit (100 bulbs, 1 home), Patriot Pack (250ft, residential), Patriot Crew Kit (1,000ft, 5 homes). The America 250 install kit. Pre-built Red/White/Blue C9 stringer for patriotic seasonal work (4th of July, Memorial Day, year-round civic / veterans) as well as Christmas red+white+blue novelty installs.
Two sizes: 500ft (2-3 homes) and 1,000ft (5-6 homes, RECOMMENDED). The first-year contractor learning-volume kit. Warm White C9, complete pre-matched components, one-box-per-crew workflow. Sized to cover the first season without over-investing inventory.
Two sizes: 100ft (small accent) and 250ft (single one-story home). The partial-coverage kit for accent work, single-line installs, or first-time installers testing the install workflow before committing to a Starter Pack. Same Warm White C9 components, scaled down.
One size: 2,000ft. The high-volume contractor kit for crews running 10+ properties per season. Per-foot pricing is the best in the lineup at this volume. Combine with bulk wire + bulk clip orders for jobs over 15 properties.
Specs by family, with SKU sizes and homes covered. Approximate values — each kit ships with its exact part-by-part list inside the box.
| Family | SKU sizes | Homes covered | Color palette | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Patriot | House (100 bulbs), Pack (250ft), Crew (1,000ft) | 1 to 5 homes | Red / White / Blue C9 | America 250 patriotic install (year-round civic + Christmas novelty) |
| C9 Starter Pack | 500ft, 1,000ft | 2 to 6 homes | Warm White C9 | First-year residential contractor learning volume |
| C9 Pro Pack | 100ft, 250ft | Partial / 1 home | Warm White C9 | Accent work, single-line install, contractor evaluating workflow |
| C9 Contractor Pack | 2,000ft | 10+ homes | Warm White C9 | High-volume crew season, best per-foot pricing |
Switch to bulk wire + bulk clip + bulk bulb orders when crossing ~15 properties per season — call (855) 619-5483 for a custom-bulk spec.
Real questions contractors ask before ordering. Four common compound scenarios — install context plus kit-size decision — pre-answered.
Two-story homes with shingle eaves on the main facade plus gutter runs along porch overhangs and decorative facia trim along dormers. A 1,000ft kit covers 5-6 mixed-substrate homes per season. Pair Wedge Tuff Clips (shingle + gutter dual-mount) with Tuff Tile or Parapet Clips for any tile dormer caps. The Wedge handles ~80% of clips; specialty clips fill the rest.
Sub-zero install conditions where cheap clips go brittle and bargain wire cracks. The Pro Kit's SPT-1 socket wire is rated to -20°F and our Tuff brand polycarbonate clips stay flexible at the same temp — which is why most pros installing north of latitude 42 run SPT-1, same as everywhere else. The wire isn't usually the failure point in cold climates; clip plastic is. Stick with the Tuff Wedge and the Pro Kit's SPT-1 and you're set.
The Patriot family ships Red/White/Blue C9 pre-assembled — same E17 base, same socket spacing as Warm White Pro Kits. For year-round civic use (firehouses, veterans halls, courthouses), Patriot Kits hold up across 5+ seasons just like the Warm White line. Christmas crossover use: Patriot reads as “Americana Christmas” on White-and-Red palette homes.
A 1,000ft Pro Kit covers ~6 homes at typical residential per-home pricing of $300-$700 for the install ($1,800-$4,200 revenue total). Kit cost is paid back on home #2. Bulbs reuse 5+ seasons so the per-home material cost drops dramatically after year 1. Year-two contractors typically jump to the 2,000ft Contractor Pack for the better per-foot pricing.

"Jeremy drove a garbage truck for 16 years before he started his Christmas light business from my YouTube videos. He came to one of my first in-person classes. I told him he could do $30K-$50K his first year. His girlfriend thought I was crazy. He hit $32,000. Last year he crossed seven figures. This year: over $1.2 million."

"You can't make money doing Christmas lights in my area." That's what Jason Huefner told me when he started. Today he runs $275K-$300K per year — part-time — while working full-time as a career firefighter. He doesn't even install on weekends.

Most contractors undercharge because they don't believe their work is worth it. Rick installed the same number of homes as the prior year — but priced them right. Went from $150K to $300K in 12 months. Same crew, same install hours, way better margins.
Industry terms used on this page, defined plainly:
Yes — a complete kit is 15-25% cheaper than buying bulbs, wire, clips, and plugs separately. Bigger kit sizes have the best per-unit cost.
500ft or 1,000ft. 500ft covers 2-3 homes (learning volume). 1,000ft covers 5-6 homes (recommended if you've booked 4+ already). When in doubt, size up.
5-6 average residential homes. Single-story homes use 150-200 linear ft; two-story 250-400ft. Most year-one and year-two businesses fall in the 4-6 home range.
The 1,000ft kit doubles every component: 1,000 bulbs / 1,000ft wire / 1,000 clips / 20 plugs (vs 500/500ft/500/10). 1,000ft per-foot pricing is better.
Warm white — 90% of residential installs use it. Patriot kits ship in red/white/blue. For multicolor or custom palettes, see the C9 / C7 bulb collection or call (855) 619-5483.
First-year contractor: 4-6 hours per home × 5-6 homes = 20-36 hours total. Experienced crews with pre-built strings finish in 10-15 hours total. Depends on roof complexity and weather.
Same-day on in-stock orders placed before 2 PM ET. Free shipping over $349 (most sizes qualify). Ships from Burlington, KY; 2-4 business days transit.
Yes — 30-day return when unopened. Mid-season size-up? Call (855) 619-5483, we'll work it without paying for components twice.
Yes. Pro-grade C9 LEDs last 5+ seasons; retail big-box C9 lasts 1-2. Wholesale price difference pays back in year two. Contractor-grade wire and clips survive install/takedown cycles that retail doesn't.
Call (855) 619-5483 — real contractors answer. We'll work through bookings, average footage per home, and scaling plan. Most new contractors do best with 500ft or 1,000ft. 5 minutes saves a season of mismatched orders.
Pro Kits work great up to about 12-15 properties per season. At that volume you'll save time and money by buying bulk components (1,000ft wire spools, 500-bulb cases, 800-clip cases) instead of pre-built kits. Talk to us when you cross 15 properties — we'll spec a custom bulk order.
Yes — most pro contractors start with a Starter Pack or Contractor Pack for the easy lines (front-of-house roofline) and supplement with bulk wire + bulk bulbs for the back, side, and valley runs. The pre-built kit gives predictable install time on the visible lines; bulk gives cost efficiency on the rest.
Same coverage either way. Pro Kits carry the full Minleon V2 5-year warranty on bulbs and the standard Tuff warranty on clips and wire. Buying as a kit doesn't reduce or extend coverage versus buying each piece individually.
Not currently. Timers are a separate product line because contractor preferences vary widely (mechanical vs photoelectric vs WiFi-controllable). Pair the kit with the timer that fits the install — same-day-ship if ordered together.
Same-day-ship replacement on in-stock items ordered before 2 PM ET. Most pro contractors keep a small reserve of the most-broken-in-shipping items (clips and end-of-line plugs) for emergency installs. Call (855) 619-5483 for emergency replenishment.
If you've booked 1-2 homes for friends or family, start with a 500ft C9 Starter Pack — it covers 2-3 average residential rooflines and lets you learn the install workflow without over-investing. If you've already booked 4+ homes (or strongly expect to), jump straight to the 1,000ft Starter Pack. The 500ft Starter pays for itself on the second home; the 1,000ft pays back on the third.
Corner lots usually need MORE linear feet than non-corner same-floorplan homes because the visible facade includes two sides instead of one. A standard suburban two-story uses 250-400ft; a corner-lot two-story can run 350-500ft. For one corner-lot job, the 500ft Starter Pack covers it. For a season of corner-lot work, the 1,000ft Starter Pack is the safer spec.
Two paths. (1) Within 30 days unopened: return for a refund and reorder the correct size. (2) Already opened but realized mid-season you need more: call (855) 619-5483 and we'll work the size-up without paying for components twice. Most first-year contractors guess low on their first kit; mid-season size-ups are common and we handle them every November.
