How many straps do I need per tree?

Size it off trunk diameter using the chart above: four straps handles a 6 to 9 inch trunk, and counts step up to twelve straps for trunks in the 24 to 28 inch range. Columns follow the same logic.

Why is vertical stringing faster than wrapping?

Wrapping forces you to walk the entire line around the trunk dozens of times. With straps, the line only travels up and down, so both install and takedown become straight runs instead of orbits.

Brown or clear straps?

Brown blends into bark on natural trunks. Clear is the pick for painted columns, birch, and lighter surfaces. Route trucks usually carry both.
