Powerful neodymium magnet. The clip uses a neodymium magnet — the strongest commercially available — sized to hold a fully loaded C9 strand against high winds and heavy ice loads. Grips through paint and light coatings, so factory-finished metal roofing, painted gutters, and powder-coated commercial steel all work without prep.

Designed for top-of-roof mounting. The Tuff Mag positions the clip on top of the roofline rather than hanging off the front edge. This is a significant install advantage — lights mounted on top of a metal roof are far less likely to be pulled down by wind, ice, or branch loads than lights hanging off a fascia or gutter edge. How to install

1. Pre-bulb the stringer at the ground. Mount bulbs into the stringer BEFORE going up the ladder. Walk the line plugged in to test for dead bulbs.
2. Pre-clip the stringer at the ground. Slide clips onto every socket while the line is laid out. Faster than clipping on the roof.
3. Snap the magnetic clip to the metal surface. Neodymium magnet snaps the clip onto steel roof panels, metal gutters, or any ferrous-metal substrate.
4. Verify and stake the supply cord. Confirm the line lights. Route the supply cord to the outlet.

Build quality + materials

• UV-stabilized polymer — resists yellowing, cold-cracking, and freeze-thaw degradation across multiple seasons.
• Neodymium magnet — strong hold even on textured or coated steel surfaces.
